Líng Activity Pack

The accompanying Activity Pack provides teachers with more than 8 hours of teaching materials. The first three activities explore different numeral systems of the world and teach children the language skills they need to play Ling. The majority of activities extend their knowledge and understanding of numbers further, enabling them to count up to 9,999, say and read the date, learn vocabulary for days of the week, months of the year and understand the cultural significance of certain numbers in Chinese culture. Activities range from whole class mingle activities to individual reading puzzles.

Pattern Pairs

About the game: This simple matching activity introduces children to 12 different structural patterns of Chinese characters. Players match each of the 48 pattern cards to a corresponding Chinese character card and use the answer sheet to check their pattern pairs. All character cards have English definitions on the back and more than 80% of these compound characters are from YCT level 1.
